Miss C

The last sloth in Australia died last night. According to the article she was born in Adelaide Zoo in Australia in 1974 and was the oldest sloth in the world.

She passed away at 43 years old. An extraordinary age for sloths, who normally have a life span of 15-25 years.

She was beautiful and remember that not many creatures but sloths can bring a human to tears just by touching them.

If you would like to read more about the wonderful Miss C, you can follow here. And as you go about your day today, remember her and try to contemplate on the sloth in general. How observant it is, how slow and what it may be thinking all the time.

How it is bothered by nothing. How very little imprint it leaves on our beautiful planet.

Unlike some creatures here.

Today, please pick up someone else’s trash from the ground. Try not to throw any more on the ground. Turn the water off when you brush your teeth. Turn the lights off when you leave a room, don’t sit idle in your car with the engine and air conditioning on…. Sign a petition to help the planet. Read up on what’s happening. Take up a cause.

Do Something Today for the Earth in Memory of Miss C… and as always, be wonderful out there!

Adelaide Zoo Curator of Conservation and Native Fauna Dr Phil Ainsley said Miss C (pictured) was found on Friday morning by her keepers looking visibly unwell
