Obviously this is an issue close to my heart. Not only will the actions of the people involved in this thing, totally discredit our entire justice system, but it will eventually, probably result in the pollution of private and sacred Native American lands.
We were excited when the judge upheld the injunction until today… Today, he ruled that the contractors involved can continue on… The state government of North Dakota has claimed “eminent domain” on Native land; and can continue on digging up the great great grandmothers and relatives of the Sioux as they watch on.. with National Guardsmen, dogs and angry construction workers making sure they do not salvage one item.
I am worried. I am worried about the way all of this is going… Not only this dramatic and blatant disregard for legal process in this situation but the entire shebang… The entire circus that our country has become.
After seeing the ruling of this judge I cried. I did. Mainly because it means that water truly will become a very expensive commodity in the near future… because it means that flesh and blood Americans mean nothing to the big dollar…
A few years ago if one were to oust a big scandal over the news with millions protesting the action, the American voice would be heard.. It seems that is not the case now.. Now the American voice is to be silenced…
Our protests are met with closed roads, police and National Guardsmen… Who the hell said we cannot protest? And no, you cannot work around it by closing the fucking road so others cannot join in… This whole thing is unconstitutional and treaty breaking…
So, in some tiresome manner, with no money and unable to join my fellow Americans in the physical protests, this is all I can do.. but many can do this.
I decided to boycott EXXON a long time ago, when it took Federal action due to huge public outcry to get them to clean up their first big mess… then it continued on. Now.. I can add SONOCO and STRIPES Gas Stations to this list because they are the distributors for Energy Transfer Partners.
